Pioneers of British light music, the New London Orchestra start this special Aldeburgh Carnival weekend with a programme that includes some instantly-recognisable light classics. They include well-loved hits such as Calling all Workers, Coronation Scot and The Dambusters March, and there are favourite arias from Ivor Novello and Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado. But there are also many others that you will certainly recognise but may not know by name, some of the most familiar radio theme tunes of all.
